Major BleedingÂ
The NAR Gen 7 CAT Tourniquet, (ETD) Emergency Trauma Dressing(4”Flat) & NAR Compressed Gauze can all be utilized to stop major bleeding and stabilize an individual until further medical attention can be provided.Â
Burns
The BurnTec® Dressing(5”x5”) can be used for first, second, and third-degree burns (thermal, chemical, & electric).
The BurnTec® cools the injured area and ensures a soothing effect for up to 24 hours. The sterile non-stick dressing is absorbent, trapping wound secretion and bacteria within the gel. The dressing is permeable to water vapor and oxygen but impermeable to bacteria which helps protect the wound from external contamination while allowing it to breathe.
Broken Bones
The SAM SPLINT II is a lightweight, strong, comfortable splint that can be easily molded to fit almost any fracture. Waterproof, reusable, radiolucent and compact, the SAM Splint II is not affected by environmental extremes.
Eye Wound
The Polycarbonate Eye Shield meets current military and civilian prehospital guidelines for the treatment of traumatic eye injury in the field. This convex rigid eye shield allows the user to protect the injured eye and blocks external pressure from being applied directly to the injury, preventing further damage.
Chest Wound
This Petrolatum Gauze dressing is ideal for providing an occlusive seal to open chest wounds associated with penetrating chest trauma. The 3 in. x 18 in. condensed strip of fine mesh gauze is impregnated with white petrolatum and facilitates quick and effective application in the management of penetrating chest injury.
Shock
Loss of blood can cause a drop in body temperature and can lead to shock. The NAR Survival Blanket is a small, lightweight solution to keep you dry and warm. Waterproof and weighing in under 2 oz, these blankets use technology originally designed by NASA to trap and reflect radiant body heat back towards the body. This is a great piece of gear to keep the user warm and prevent further body heat loss.
